Maxy's New Big Boy Bed!

My little brother got his very own big boy bed yesterday!!  Daddy took the crib apart and we moved the bed from the guestroom into Max's room.  (Mommy is kind of sad not to have a crib up in the house anymore...)  Mommy and Daddy are getting a new bed soon and will put their bed in the guestroom.  Mommy got the bedding on sale quite a while ago for Max's room and it actually looks great with his green dresser and the new toy storage Daddy got for him.  (We just need to move the pictures over a bit so they are centered over the bed.  Max was really excited about his new bed and kept saying, "I love my new big boy bed."  He went to bed really well last night but woke up in the middle of the night crying.  I think he got scared because he was so used to his crib that he's always been in.  He went back to bed pretty quickly, though.  Then this morning when I woke up, I went to check on Max and he wasn't in his bed or his room!  I ran into Mommy's room saying that I couldn't find Max.  Mommy was really worried.  We ran downstairs and found little Maxy asleep on the couch with his puppies.  We aren't sure how long he was there, but we were really surprised that he came downstairs by himself.  Hopefully he will stay in his new bed all night tonight!

Ellinwood

We went to Mommy's cousin's wedding in Ellinwood on Saturday.  It was really fun because Connor and Grayson were there too, so we got to play with them lots and stay in the same hotel together!

Christmas

We had such a fun Christmas in Topeka with GG and Poppy!  We stayed for almost a week.  Max and I just love being in Topeka.  Max said, "I want to stay here forever."  We got to visit all our favorite spots like Bobo's, the Discovery Center, see the "razzle dazzle" Christmas lights and Poppy made us lots of shakes.  We were pretty spoiled!

 Christmas morning!
Santa gave me this awesome bow and arrow/target set!
Maxy got the Batcave that he's been wanting for months.
Another favorite gift of mine was the marker maker.  I have made so many markers!
Max was in love with his "big bad scooter" that GG and Poppy gave him.  He kept saying, "I love my new scooter so much."
Here we are at the Discovery Center in Topeka... so fun!

We went in the workshop area for the first time this visit and I made my very own car!
It was such a fun week with GG and Poppy, we are so lucky!

School Christmas Program, 1st Snow of Season, Other Christmas Fun

Last Wednesday (just before Max, Daddy and I got the fever/cough flu), I had my school Christmas program.  We went to Spin first with GG and Poppy and then went to the program.  So lucky we made it before I got sick the next day!

Singing "This Little Light of Mine."

I sang all the songs and did a great job!
We were really sick the next few days :(, but the first day we were feeling better, we got our first snow!  We went and played in it and Daddy and I even got to go sledding at the BIG hill!

 Family Christmas at our house
Connor and I got to play in the snow together too.
 Playing "Memory" with GG
 Baby Cousin Jack!

Last night we went to Union Station to see the big lit up train with our buddies, but we got there just as it closed.  Oh, well, we still had fun walking around and seeing everything.  Isn't this big sled cool?
Checking out the trains at Union Station... Noah, me, Reid and Cooper
Riding the little train... fun night with our buddies!

Family Date Night

Here's the gingerbread house we made this year.  GG helped us out by finding sour cherry balls because the kit we usually buy was a little bit different this year and didn't have our favorite candy included like it usually does.  Luckily, GG saved the day!  The gingerbread house already no longer exists.  We were so anxious to eat it, so one day, Mommy let us "do a little damage" on it and then we kept asking to "do more damage to the gingerbread house." So we finally just got to go for it and took it all apart and ate pretty much the whole thing. :)
We got to open one present early... a present we picked out for each other (from the dollar section at Target).  I got Max a little Superman guy and he got me a baseball bat filled with bubble gum.  Max cried when he opened my present and said he didn't want it.  Oops... needs to learn a little present etiquette!  It turned out ok because now he actually really likes it and plays with it lots.
On Sunday we had a really fun family date night.  We went down to Crown Center to look around and played for a bit.
Then we went to Winstead's (Max and my request) for dinner and got to all share a skyscraper soda for dessert... it's basically a GIANT chocolate shake that comes in a flower vase instead of a glass!  The crazy thing is, our family actually finished the whole thing!

Yum, yum, yum!!  Afterward, we drove around looking at Christmas lights and saw the new awesome light display at Deanna Rose in their parking lot.  It was a super fun night with our family!!

Max's story

I apologize for the video quality on these, but Mommy really wanted to have record of us telling stories to be able to remember forever.  Mommy and Daddy have been telling me "scary stories" after reading books before bed since I was 2, but now that I'm 5, they are about out of new stories to tell.  So lately, Max and I have been the ones to tell the stories before bed.  We tell very similar stories. ;)

Fun Holiday Weekend

We had a fun weekend with holiday merry making. :)  Max and I wanted to make a big "mural" for a Polar Express party we hosted.  We had fun painting.
Mommy and I made some holiday treats for our buddies.
We had lot of fun at the Polar Express party.  Everyone wore their jammies and after eating pizza, we did a couple crafts.  The kids made reindeer ornaments and the moms made candles wrapped with cinnamon sticks.

 Here's my Rudolph ornament...
And Maxy just wanted to eat candy canes.
Daddy made a movie nest in the basement and we ate peppermint popcorn and had hot chocolate!
 The buddies
Polar Express party favors Mommy made... origami boxes with a bell in each and a little "Believe" note.
And today we visited Santa Claus!  Max was very hesitant and didn't want to sit in Santa's lap.  In fact, at first, we couldn't get him closer than 3 feet away from Santa.  We finally got him to come over closer and actually got a good pic.  I was happy to sit in Santa's lap as usual and showed him my list I had made.  (I cut pictures out of toy catalogs and glued them to paper.  But then I would find things I wanted more, so I would "cover up" old pictures and replace them with new ones.) ;)
