The night before Father's Day, we went to see The Wizard of Oz at Starlight Theater, which is a beautiful outdoor theater in Kansas City, near the zoo. It was such a nice evening and we had an awesome time. Mommy remembers going there as a kid and what a special treat it was. Max and I were very familiar with the show, so that made it fun. We were really attentive the whole time and loved to clap after each scene. It didn't start til 8:30pm and we got home at 11:30pm. As we were leaving, we said how we couldn't believe it was past our bedtime and that it was the middle of the night and we were still up! We even saw bats flying as we were walking back to the car.
This morning we slept in until 9am! It was the first time we've EVER all slept in that late! We made Daddy breakfast in bed... not without a little chaos. Max accidentally spilled orange juice all over the carpet and then I started crying because Murphy was eating sausage off my plate. After breakfast, we headed to Topeka to have lunch at Mommy, Uncle Chris and Poppy's favorite when Mommy was a little girl... Taco Via.
We had to get some pictures in front of the Taco Via sign for old times sake. It was fun because Uncle Chris, Connor and Grayson met us there too!
Then we stopped by the toy store near Taco Via because we had a little extra time and Max found his heaven... a whole WALL of puppies. When he saw it, he said, "Puppies Galore!!"
Our last stop in Topeka was to the Scooby Doo show at the Performing Arts Center. Daddy loved Scooby Doo growing up just as much as we did. It was a great show with a spooky ghost that tried to trick us all, but we solved the mystery with Scooby and the gang! Max and I got to have a sleepover since it's a holiday, so he is sleeping in my drawer. As Mommy was tucking us in, Max said, "I had a fun Happy Father's Day. When are we gonna have a Happy Father's Day again?" We love you Daddy!!!
