Ready Set

The Lake!

While Mommy and Max were in Topeka, I went down to Lake of the Ozarks with Daddy, Reid, Cooper and their dads.  We had such an awesome weekend!!  Reid and his dad sure have all the fun lake toys... we boated, jet skied, tubed, jumped in off the dock, etc... this was our second year going and I have been talking about last summer's trip all year long.  This went down in the record books for another year of special memories.  Daddy said I jumped off the dock for hours on end!

And one last pic of my first tennis lesson of the summer!

Max and Mommy in Topeka

Daddy and I went to the lake last weekend so Mommy and Max went over to Topeka to hang out with GG and Poppy.  They had such a great time!  The big swing was a hit as always.  As soon as they hopped out of the car, Max went running for the swing and of course wanted Poppy to push him.  (The pic below is Mommy's all-time favorite pic of Max and Poppy.)

Hanging out on the driveway and having happy hour snacks and drinks!
The cool green bike at the Discovery Center in Topeka
 Bubbles as big as Max

We also went to the Aquatic Center and Max went down this slide at least 50 times.

GG reading to max

An all-time favorite book of all the grandsons at GG and Poppy's house... wanted to get a recording of GG reading it.

Max swinging with gg and poppy

Always one of Maxy's favorite things to do at GG and Poppy's...

Good Puppy

Here's a game Max and I love to play called "Puppy and Owner."  Usually Max is the puppy and I'm the owner but today I was the puppy and Max was the owner.

My Last T-Ball Game of the Season

Mommy kind of went crazy with the camera on my last t-ball game.  I had such a fun season, especially since my daddy was the coach.  Our team had a great time!!

Maxy fell asleep on the couch the other day cuddling his most precious love puppy!

Favorite Summer Craft

I had to post some pictures of our favorite summer craft.  Max and I have been really into these perler beads and creating all kinds of stuff.  We have gotten pretty good at following the patterns and usually just need Mommy's help to iron them.  Well, Max sometimes needs a little more help.

So proud of our collections of "bead things"!

This was Mommy's favorite summer craft.  We made these at art club at our house... little boats out of wine corks.  They float pretty well!

4th of July (Afternoon/Evening)

On the afternoon of the 4th, Daddy and I made "Wally the Watermelon Man."  Daddy had seen a youtube video of a guy putting a wire hanger on the end of a drill (to use like an egg beater) and then he made a hole in the watermelon and used the drill with makeshift egg beater to make a watermelon slush.  We had been wanting to try this for a while and it was pretty fun and messy!  It tasted ok, but it would have been better if we chilled the watermelon first.  Max and I didn't like all the white seeds in the slush. ;)

Our cousins came over for a bbq, wave crashin' and fireworks.  Daddy even went to Missouri this year to buy "real" fireworks.  The only thing they sell in Kansas are the snap poppers, which are fun, but we wanted to do sparklers and a few more things this year.

We even got to stay up super late and went down to the park to watch the big fireworks display.  It was our first time seeing it and we were in awe!  It was worth the late night!

The day after the 4th, Daddy took us camping at the lake nearby.  Mommy got a night to herself, which she enjoyed as well.  It rained most of the night and was very hot in the tent.  None of us boys got a very good night's sleep and I was especially crabby on Sunday when we got home.  But we all got 3 hour naps and were in much better spirits afterward!  We are so blessed to have our Daddy who does such fun things with us!

Having fun at the pool with Daddy Sunday evening
Family date to the Farmer's Market (this was actually the evening of the 3rd)
Max and I wanted to put on "puppy" and "pirate" facepaint tonight... can you guess who is the pup and who's the pirate? ;)
