Butler and Hosmer

We've been playing a lot of baseball outside the last couple weeks with all the World Series excitement and also because of the beautiful fall weather we've been having!  Max loves Butler and Cole loves Hosmer... it's so neat how they can now pitch to each other and just play on their own.  One of my favorite things to do is watch them play together.  They enjoy each other's company so much and have such a great time as brothers. :)

Blue October and more

We were out of school last Thursday and Friday for conferences so we got to do a lot of special, fun things!  Last Thursday was a Halloween art club at the E. house.  The kids were so adorable in their costumes and we did a really fun project.  The kids made dream catchers.

Cole made this sign for the spooky mummy we found in our family room! ;)
Halloween cousin club with Connor, Grayson and Jack.  We had such a fun night with them!

Saturday was Cole's last soccer game for the season.  We lost track of how many goals he scored!  I think it was at least 4 and maybe more!

 Playing in the leaves!

Royals mania!!  Cole loves Eric Hosmer, so he got Max to let him wear his old Hosmer shirt that Max usually wears now because it's pretty small for Cole.  That left Max without a shirt so I told him I'd make him one.  His says Butler on the back because Max's favorite player is Billy Butler.

The Royals played in the World Series the last 3 nights so we've had a lot of late nights watching baseball but it's been very exciting and fun!  However, the Royals lost the last 2 nights.  :(  The series is now 2-3... Giants are ahead.  Today is a travel day and they play back in KC tomorrow night.  Hope they can bring back the magic and take the crown!  No matter what, we are KC proud!  So grateful for these special times with my loving family!!

First Field Trip, Jack C and Monster Mash

Two weeks ago Cole had his first field trip for kindergarten.  We got to go to the pumpkin patch at Johnson Farms.  I was excited to get to go too!  Cole wanted me to sit by him on the hayride.  It was really sweet.  He had such a fun time playing with his school friends too.

We also got to see Jack C. that week!  He was in town for a visit!  We had a pizza party at our house one evening and got to visit Deanna Rose together the next day.  We sure miss our buddies, the C. family.  We were so happy to get to see them, though!!

That Saturday night we had a party at Cole's school called Monster Mash.  There was a "spooky school house" and a "friendly school house."  The boys liked the spooky one best and wanted to go through twice.  Cole decided to wear Spider Man instead of his police officer costume because he didn't want to give away his real costume before Halloween.

Let's Go Royals!

Three Blind Mice

Here is one of the first songs Cole learned to play on the piano.  He loves to play instruments, particularly this piano that he got from Santa when he was 2. :)  Many afternoons he is up in his room playing song after song.  So far, he can play: 3 Blind Mice, Mary Had A Little Lamb, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Row Row Row Your Boat, Halloween Theme Song, Do Re Mi

Laughing Boys

Daddy song

Dads and Donuts at Maxy's preschool :)

It's a Goal!

First Annual Hayride with Friends!

As I am writing this blog post, I realized we were 3 for 3 with hayrides this weekend - Friday at Freaky Fall Fest, Saturday at Pendleton's and Sunday at Heritage Park.  I guess it was just a hayride kind of weekend. :)  We organized a family hayride for our friends on Sunday and had such an awesome time!  We had 2 tractors and they took us for a ride through Heritage Park, which was beautiful.  Then we had a bonfire with s'mores and apple cider.  We ended up having a great turnout and the rain held, so we were thankful for that.  It was a great way to celebrate the fall season with our friends.  Hope we can do it again next year!

Freaky Fall Fest & Pendleton's

We had such a fun fall weekend!  Friday night was the annual Freaky Fall Fest at Leawood City Park.  Daddy cooked hotdogs like usual for the Kiwanis Club.  We've been going to Freaky Fall Fest for at least 10 years or more.  It rained all day on Friday, so we weren't sure if they would have it or not.  They ended up having it and the rain stopped but it was a very low turnout.  We still had a great time and the boys loved getting to do all the activities with no crowds.  There was a trunk or treat, egg hunt, they made candy necklaces, did a cake walk and we took a hayride together as a family.  They tried out the bounce houses, but they were pretty wet.  The little police officer and knight look forward to this event every year, so glad we got it in this year!

Then on Saturday we met GG and Poppy at Pendleton's in Lawrence.  It's our fun fall tradition with them.  Connor got to go with us too this year!

Our favorite is the corn bath!!!  We just love this... we played in in for a long time!!
