Good thing we got out and did lots of fun things earlier this month because we are sure going to be slowed down now! I broke my foot on Monday playing basketball with the boys. I was chasing after a ball that was headed for the street and twisted and fell hard on my left foot. I managed to hop inside and get ice on it, but it still swelled the size of a tennis ball. Craig came home and said we needed to get it xrayed. Sure enough, it was a clean break of the fifth metatarsal. I'm realizing how difficult it is to have one good leg. The crutches hurt quite a bit, so luckily I got a knee scooter which has been VERY helpful. It's still not easy getting around and I've definitely had to slow down, but I'm trying to learn the art of relaxing and the patience of being at home more and also not being able to work out. It will be wonderful to heal and be back to normal!
The boys have been soooo helpful and sweet to their Momma Man, rushing to open doors for me and helping get things for me around the house or bring things down from upstairs. Cole even made Max's note for his lunch this week. I usually make it but Coley wanted to help out. So sweet. It has also made me realize how many wonderful friends and family members I have who have been so helpful. I am truly grateful!
Craig and I had had plans for a long time to got to a concert Tuesday night, the day after I broke my foot. I wasn't going to let my foot stop me. We had an awesome time even though it was quite a challenge on the crutches.
Lots of cuddle time on the couch with my guys
The knee scooter has been a life saver! It really helps me get around the house easier and the boys love it too! ;)
