Johnson Family Reunion

We had such a wonderful weekend with all our family last weekend, despite the craziness of having our house on the market and having to be gone pretty much the whole time because of showings.  John and Sarah stayed with us from Chicago and we had a blast with them!  It was John's first time to Kansas City and he seemed to love it.  He was amazing with the boys, they played a lot of basketball together.  Sarah was equally awesome as always with them.  We just love them SO very much!!!!

Some of the cousins together at the BBQ at Chris and Jess' house.

George and Su all the way from Wales!
Ice cream stop at DQ :)
Even made it to the Plaza art fair!
Drone flying with Abbe and Mark
 Royals game
It was such a fun weekend and I'm so glad we all got to be together!  Mom's cousin, Pete, took a bunch of pictures.  I will hopefully get more from him to post.  Love our family!

Catching up on the important stuff

So here's the important stuff.... it's the little things that count and that bring me the most joy.
A lunch date with my littlest guy at Old Town Pizza
Family date to pick apples... had fun despite only getting 5 apples between the 4 of us this year!  Bad crop this year, but that's ok.
Another sweet first day of school boy pic from my phone
 Stormtroopers are awesome!
Cole's night light he created on his bedside table
Silly cousins at Crown Center celebrating Connor's bday
One of our many spontaneous park outings as of late with having to be out of the house with as little as 10 minutes notice.... 42 hours out of the house in the last 2 weeks...
Another spontaneous family date to Louisburg Cider Mill as we were once again out of the house for showings.

 Headed to soccer game
Daddy's birthday lunch at his requested 5 Guys
Nothing like a little construction mess outside your house when you've got it on the market!

Max's 1st Day of Pre-K

Maxy had his first day of Pre-K on September 8!  Labor Day was late this year, so he had a late start to the school year.  He goes Monday - Thursday 9-11:30 and stays for lunch bunch on Tuesday and Wednesdays.  He has Mrs. Murdock, who Cole had.  He has met 2 new buddies, Grant and Devon.  He is so cute how he really likes school and he especially loves math!  He is constantly asking me math problems in the car, but what is amazing is that he can do many of the addition problems himself.. and with big numbers!  He also loves to count into the 100s.  I say it often, but his happiness is contagious and he always makes me smile.  I love my little PreK guy!!

New House & Ozarks

It has been forever since I've caught up on the blog.  We've had a lot going on and so I'm just now getting to updates.  On August 26, we bought what we hope is our forever home!  It's been a wild ride ever since!  We really didn't intend to buy a home right now.  We decided we would do some research this fall and then maybe get more serious in the spring.  Or maybe if we didn't see anything, we would just stay here and do the things that we have wanted to do to our current house.  Anyway, we found a house and fell in love. Before we knew it, we had purchased it and currently have our house on the market.  It's been a journey, but one we are excited about and know that it's going to be a lot of work to get there and a ton of emotions and ups and downs, but we are excited to continue our next chapter as a family in our new home.  No matter what, we will be together and that's what is most important. :)

So, the weekend after we bought the house, we went to the Ozarks as a family.  It was something we had been planning on for a while and thought it would be a good opportunity to spend quality time together before the craziness began.  I'm so glad we did, we had such an awesome time!  We stayed at Tantara which had a million and one things for kids and families to do.  We explored Bridal Cave, played putt-putt, swam, ate at a fun lakeside restaurant and went to the arcade at the resort, which was a highlight for the boys.

Cole is 7!!!

My baby is 7... and looks every bit like it!  As I watched him play his first soccer game of the season that birthday morning on August 22, I couldn't help but think... who is that striking young boy? I loved watching him run the field with such intensity and play so hard... he's everything I wasn't at that age.  He was confident, fast, skilled and such a go-getter.  Watching my boys do what they love makes me happiest and that morning was no exception.

Picking a team name... the Sharks!

Meanwhile, my littlest man was playing on the sidelines with Daddy... melting my heart with each passing second...

A new dragon knight castle from Mommy and Daddy!
Cole had a really fun party at the Mad Science Lab.  It was such a cool place and the scientists did a great job engaging the kids!

 Making super bouncy balls.
Cole wanted me to make a cookie cake for him. :)

Slime kit party favors I made
Max and I also took Spin pizza to Cole at school the day before his birthday and he happened to be Star of the Week at school that week too!

Chess set from Grandma and Grandpa!
A couple non-bday pics at the end... our summer reading program chart... we ended up reading over 100 books... each dot represents a book!  And below is our monthly brunch with the Bitter's... we had little superheroes that day! :)
