My little brother is turning ONE on Wednesday! We had his birthday part this past Sunday. It was so much fun! Mommy is doing a couple posts about Max's 1st birthday party because she took a zillion pictures. It was a "little turkey" theme. Here is the turkey cake Mommy created.
I was a big helper with Max's party. I helped Mommy make the cake. I love cracking eggs, pouring in the oil and water, stirring and best of all, I LOVE licking the spatula and bowl!
Here is a little sign Mommy made with Max's handprints.
It says, "I will never be this size again, keep this to remember when." And then "Happy 1st Birthday, Max."
Max and I made this banner together - it's our handprints and we turned them into turkeys.
This is a turkey basket Mommy made. The turkey's feathers are made with our handprints. It is holding the party favors, which I made with Mommy. They were little acorns made of hershey kisses and mini vanilla wafers.
Here are the invitations Mommy made.
And the turkey on the front door she made.
And the banner over the fireplace...
And the picture banner like she always does for me too.... these are favorite pics of Max's first year.
These window markers were really fun... Mommy wrote some birthday messages to Max on the windows.
Another message on the window.
I also helped Mommy make these leaf and acorn cinnamon tortillas for the fruit salsa. We used cookie cutters, then I sprayed them with water and dusted them with cinnamon and sugar. We also had hot turkey sandwiches for our little turkey, but we didn't get any pictures of those. I had so much fun helping Mommy with everything!!
Here are the little acorn party favors.

Swings & Grandma & Grandpa's Visit
First a couple pics of Daddy pushing me super high on the swing - I like to go as high as possible...
Under doggie!!!
We love it when they push us on the swings!
And I even got Grandma to climb up into our playhouse!
Grandpa helping Max walk
They brought me this special chocolate Jesus fish - it was SO yummy!
Daddy loves hanging me upside down!
Yesterday morning, Max was in a real cuddly mood - not his normal self! We couldn't believe it! He just nuzzled up with Grandpa after waking up and layed with him for about 30 minutes. We've never seen him do that - EVER - other than maybe the first 3 weeks of his life before he got cholicy. And he is normally such a busy body now, he never stays still, so this was unbelieveable!
Under doggie!!!
Again, Daddy!
Grandma and Grandpa are here! Max and I were so happy when they arrived last Friday! We waited patiently until they got here in the afternoon, then we were all wound up, showing them all our toys and wanting to play with everything. We love it when they push us on the swings!

Halloween!!
On Sunday, we went to the Matt Ross Community Center for their trick-or-treat event. We had to get Max's pic with the pirate pumpkin.
There was a line to get pics here and we didn't have time to sit and wait til we both were looking at the camera.
On Halloween, Auntie, Uncle and Connor came over for supper and trick-or-treating!
Pirate Cole, Fireman Connor and Baby Pirate, Max! Connor and I had a blast together as always!
Uncle was doing really funny stuff to try to make us all smile.
Our pumpkins lit up - Mommy needs to learn how to take this type of pic that isn't blurry... so much to learn.
I liked holding Connor's hand as we trick-or-treated. We just went to a few houses, but my favorite part was actually handing out the candy! I would open the door and holler to the trick-or-treaters down the way, "Come to our house!!!" Then I would hand them each a piece of candy and say "You're Welcome!" after they said thank you. I was so sad when they stopped coming by and it was over.

Worn out - Happy Halloween!
Our new camera!
We just got a new camera and Mommy is obsessed! She is taking pictures constantly and loves playing with the new camera. She says she has a lot to learn, but she is taking some classes, so that will be good.
Anyway, Max had his first sucker this past weekend, kind of by accident, but once he had a hold of it, there was no letting go!!!
We had such a fun day on Saturday! We raked leaves and I loved jumping in the piles.
Here's my fall back into the pile!
And boom!
I'm gonna get you, Mommy!!
Max can climb the slide all the way to the top by himself! He can also do the rockwall ladder to the top of the playhouse - he is SUCH a climber!
Playing in the sandbox
And carving pumpkins - Daddy scooped out all the sticky stuff and I plugged my nose and said it was stinky!
Daddy did the messy part so Mommy and I could do the fun part - carving! I picked out the bat design and wanted to put "stitches" (tape) on him. Mommy said after all the time that one took, we'd do a simple design for the other one.
Meanwhile, Max was inside going crazy with spaghetti!
