There were many eventful things that happened this week that lead up to "Sinko de Maxo" but the first few pictures have nothing to do with it. I'll let you know when the Sinko de Maxo story begins.
First, Max enjoyed his first ever corn on the cob with Daddy. He loved it!
Us boys are really into sticking our tongues out lately.
On Friday night, we finally got out the bike trailer that our neighbor gave us a few years ago. We've been wanting to do it for a while, but needed to get helmets for the whole family - I was the only one that had one! Mommy's friend told her a good secret about the City of Leawood, they sell Bell helmets at cost for only $10 each. The same helmets were $25 each at Target! Max loved his helmet, which surprised us all. We figured he would want it off, but he didn't mind wearing it at all!
The trailer is a little rickety and needs the tires replaced, but we are happy to have it and it sure was a blast! We went for a short ride Friday night and then a really, really long ride on Sunday and got rained on pretty good on the way home. We were muddy and wet by the time we got home and poor Daddy had to pull us up the big hill at the end of our ride to our house in the pouring rain.
Max and I liked being "zipped up" in here. This is us on Friday night - the non rainy ride!
After this ride is where the "Sinko de Maxo" story begins. It was really hot on Friday so after our ride, Mommy took us up to give us a bath. Max and I were enjoying our bath when all the sudden Daddy yelled, "Turn off the water!!!" Water was pouring into our family room from the ceiling... we had some sort of bathtub leak. Daddy filled up half a cooler with water. Yikes! Since that is our only tub in the house, we were in trouble the next day... see below.
It was Cinco de Mayo on Saturday and we had a party at our house with James (above with Max) and Jack (below with me). Poppy got to join us too!
Sweet Baby James and his Mommy
After messy Mexican food, we had even messier Dairy Queen that Poppy and I picked out. These stars stain like crazy, so Mommy took our shirts off before we began.
Early stages of Max devouring his star...
You really can't tell how messy he got at all because this is still early stages too...
Yum, Jack!
I LOVE these stars!
The messiness lead to what Poppy called "Sinko de Maxo" since our bathtub wasn't working and we had to use the sink. Maxy loved it!
This is the best bath ever!
He wants to take a bath like this all the time now.
Poppy put Jack and me up in the tree, which was so fun!
The big boys - Poppy, Chris, Daddy, Jack and me in the tree
Also last weekend, we helped Daddy plant our garden! We have 2 kinds of hot peppers, 2 kinds of tomatoes, strawberries and lots of herbs.
Look, Max! It's a worm!
Max and I were big helpers!
Today was Daddy's half day, so when Mommy got out of work, we met her at Deanna Rose. We were going to have a picnic there, but they were closed, so we went to the park nearby instead.
Silly faces again!
Max sat next to me and ate his picnic dinner with me like a big boy.
A pear for Max and an apple for me
Down the slide and goodnight, I think we'll sleep well tonight!
