Goats and Other Wild Animals

Wednesday was a gorgeous day and I think everyone in Kansas City had the same idea as us to go to Deanna Rose.  We just love it there!
It's close to home, free to visit during the week and that have amazing stuff to do!
 Checking out the waterfall
 Butterfly
The highlight of our day at Deanna Rose was feeding the baby goats bottles.  They were going crazy for these bottles and as you were feeding one, another one would come up and try to get the bottle from the other baby goat.  They need to learn sharing!  :)
 Max loved the baby goats!
 Ba Ba!!!
Max got to feed the baby goats too!
Today we got to see more cool animals!  We took our first trip to the Kansas City Zoo together.  Mommy and Max had never been.  Poppy took me when I was about Max's age, so I don't really remember.  We met our buddies Cooper and Noah there.  I loved the polar bear - he was so funny, doing flips and swimming around in circles, he put on a show for sure!
Cooper and I on the polar bear!
Elephants!  Other highlights were riding the train, seeing tigers, kangaroos and sea lions!  Thanks for such a fun day, Coop and Noah!

"Sinko de Maxo"

There were many eventful things that happened this week that lead up to "Sinko de Maxo" but the first few pictures have nothing to do with it.  I'll let you know when the Sinko de Maxo story begins.
First, Max enjoyed his first ever corn on the cob with Daddy.  He loved it!
Us boys are really into sticking our tongues out lately.

On Friday night, we finally got out the bike trailer that our neighbor gave us a few years ago.  We've been wanting to do it for a while, but needed to get helmets for the whole family - I was the only one that had one!  Mommy's friend told her a good secret about the City of Leawood, they sell Bell helmets at cost for only $10 each.  The same helmets were $25 each at Target!  Max loved his helmet, which surprised us all.  We figured he would want it off, but he didn't mind wearing it at all!
The trailer is a little rickety and needs the tires replaced, but we are happy to have it and it sure was a blast! We went for a short ride Friday night and then a really, really long ride on Sunday and got rained on pretty good on the way home.  We were muddy and wet by the time we got home and poor Daddy had to pull us up the big hill at the end of our ride to our house in the pouring rain.
Max and I liked being "zipped up" in here.  This is us on Friday night - the non rainy ride!

After this ride is where the "Sinko de Maxo" story begins.  It was really hot on Friday so after our ride, Mommy took us up to give us a bath.  Max and I were enjoying our bath when all the sudden Daddy yelled, "Turn off the water!!!"  Water was pouring into our family room from the ceiling... we had some sort of bathtub leak.  Daddy filled up half a cooler with water.  Yikes!  Since that is our only tub in the house, we were in trouble the next day... see below.
It was Cinco de Mayo on Saturday and we had a party at our house with James (above with Max) and Jack (below with me).  Poppy got to join us too!

Sweet Baby James and his Mommy
After messy Mexican food, we had even messier Dairy Queen that Poppy and I picked out.  These stars stain like crazy, so Mommy took our shirts off before we began.
Early stages of Max devouring his star...
You really can't tell how messy he got at all because this is still early stages too...
 Yum, Jack!
 I LOVE these stars!
The messiness lead to what Poppy called "Sinko de Maxo" since our bathtub wasn't working and we had to use the sink.  Maxy loved it!
This is the best bath ever!
He wants to take a bath like this all the time now.
Poppy put Jack and me up in the tree, which was so fun!
The big boys - Poppy, Chris, Daddy, Jack and me in the tree

Also last weekend, we helped Daddy plant our garden!  We have 2 kinds of hot peppers, 2 kinds of tomatoes, strawberries and lots of herbs.
 Look, Max!  It's a worm!
Max and I were big helpers!
Today was Daddy's half day, so when Mommy got out of work, we met her at Deanna Rose.  We were going to have a picnic there, but they were closed, so we went to the park nearby instead.
 Silly faces again!
Max sat next to me and ate his picnic dinner with me like a big boy.

A pear for Max and an apple for me
Down the slide and goodnight, I think we'll sleep well tonight!

Topeka Zoo & Silly Times

Last Wednesday, my Mommy, my brother and I went to Topeka for a GG Day!  I was so, so, so, so excited to go to Topeka - it is my favorite place!  We went to the zoo, good thing we went early in the day because it ended up being a record high of 97 degrees that day!
Checking out the lions with GG.  I really wanted to see the rain forest, but it was closed.  I also was looking for polar bears, but I think I have to go to the KC zoo to see one of those.
 Riding a big cool lion!
After the zoo, we went and played in the really fun Gage Park across the street.  I was GG's buddy and just wanted to play with GG on the playground and no one else!  Max was Mommy's buddy.
I had a really fun weekend!  A big highlight was getting to have an overnight at the Beyers, but we didn't get any pictures of that.  :(  The next morning was Cousin Club so Connor and Grayson came over to play!  Connor and I take a playdough break to give each other a kiss.
Daddy was feeding Grayson and Max was having fun trying to balance a sponge on his head for some reason, silly Max!
It was a busy day, that night Reid and Emma came over for spaghetti!
 Maxy slurping up spaghetti
The babies went for a wagon ride...
While Reid and I went for a big boy jeep ride!
Yesterday, Max got his first scrape injury.  He was playing with a ball on the driveway and rolled over it and scraped his face up.  Poor little guy!  He doesn't seem to mind, though.
Since we had the camera out to document Maxy's injury, I wanted to take a picture of Mommy and Daddy making funny faces.  Daddy is really good at it, huh?
Then I wanted Daddy to take a funny one of me and Mommy.
 Nice faces :)
I wanted to take a nice picture of Mommy and Daddy... I like taking pictures just like Mommy!
