Memorial Day Weekend

We had a really relaxing and low key Memorial Day weekend, which was great!  I decided to make this "fire guy" costume out of fire duct tape.  Everything was my idea... Mommy says I'm creative.
We went fishing and on a picnic with The B. family.  It was such a fun morning... us boys are really into fishing... even if we don't catch anything but seaweed!

Max and I got to have an overnight Memorial Day night since it was a holiday.  (Our tradition is to have an overnight with each other on holidays.)  Most of the time we start out in one of our rooms and then I decided I just want to be in my room by myself.  This night Max and I actually made a fort in the basement that we slept in.  We fell asleep and then woke up around 2am and thought it was morning.  So we went back to our beds in the middle of the night.  :)

Slip n slide

First Week of Summer!!!

We have had an AWESOME first week of summer full of new things we've never done and favorite traditions.  On Tuesday we went to Tots on Tuesdays at the Kemper Contemporary Art Museum.  We had never been before.  There was a story time, we did a craft and then had a picnic outside near these hammocks that we loved playing on.

Then we walked over to the Nelson Atkins Museum to check out the grounds and sculptures.  We didn't go inside, but walked all around outside.  It was such a fun day!

On Wednesday morning, we found out that it was opening day at the strawberry patch!  So we loaded up and drove out to Edgerton to pick amazing, ripe strawberries.  It is one of Mommy's favorite summertime traditions.  We got 7.5 pounds of delicious strawberries!  I brought my camping set, which came in handy because I used my binoculars and pocket knives to get the berries off the stems.

That afternoon we had "spy playdate" at our house (all my idea).  We dressed in all black like spies and played.  Mommy made us this secret spy message that we had to decode.
It was a hot afternoon on spy playdate so we got out the baby pool and slip n slide!
Today we checked out the brand new dinosaur museum near us!  We have been watching and waiting for it to open.  It's on the way to my school and especially Max would always ask if we could drive by to see if it was open.  For months, he has been wanting it to open.  So it finally did and we went today!  We got to see a giant T-Rex and also dig for dinosaur bones and put dino bones together.

End of Pre-K

Last Thursday was my last day of Pre-K.  Earlier in the week we got to sing a song for our families, got certificates from our teacher and had a family picnic.  Here I am with my school friends, singing a song.

These are my school buddies: Caden, Jack, Sam, me and Max ;)
Our first and last day of school tradition is to go get donuts before school that day.  So we stopped at Dunkin Donuts on the way to school and had a yummy treat!

We had a picnic at the park on the last day of school with the boys in my class.  It was a great year and Mommy can't believe I'm going to kindergarten in the fall!

Mother's Day

We had a really great Mother's Day on Sunday.  When we first woke up we kept bringing Mommy lots of gifts in bed... we brought her pictures we drew, all kinds of treasure, a special ring and lots of rocks.  Then we took Mommy to Chez Elle, one of her favorite places.  They have yummy crepes.

We made this necklace out of noodles with Mommy and I also made her a special heart bracelet that says, "I love Mom."  The bracelet was all my idea and I did it all by myself.  Mommy was making some little heart gift tags and I asked her if I could have one of the hearts.  Next thing she knew, I had written on the heart, punched holes in it and tied a ribbon on it and gave it to her.

It was pretty busy at the restaurant, but luckily we were entertained because our cousins and GG and Poppy met us there too

After brunch we went over to the Kauffmann Gardens near the Plaza.  It was such a beautiful place to check out.  Mommy and GG especially loved looking at all the flowers.
 We were being silly!

What a special day with our family!!

Max Helping with Jack & Lemonade Stand

The other weekend Max got to help feed our baby cousin Jack his bottle.  He did a great job helping out with little Jack!

Last Friday was a gorgeous day so we decided to have a lemonade stand.  We made pink lemonade and sold chocolate chip cookies too.  We timed it so that we opened just as the big kids in the neighborhood were getting home from school.  We had a lot of customers and lots of fun too!  We sold out of all our cookies and 2 pitchers of lemonade!
