Fun at Home (phone pictures)

For some reason I've been really bad about taking pictures on our camera the last few weeks, but I've taken plenty on my phone!  Here's what we've been up to....
Max fell asleep in my arms on the couch a couple weeks ago... I can't remember why... I think he was probably tired from playing outside.  We've had beautiful weather the last couple weeks and we've been outside 99% of the time.  He has been crashing each night from playing so hard in the fresh air.

We had big boy playdate at our house a couple weeks ago and we kicked off March and St. Patrick's Day with some fun activities.  We made shamrock pretzel treats and gelatin slime.  They got to go "excavating" in the green gelatin and dig for gold coins.

We also did a rainbow scavenger hunt and the boys had to read the clues together to get to the "end of the rainbow."  They did such a great job, it was really cute to see them sounding out the words and figuring out each clue together.
A couple weeks ago the boys requested breakfast in bed on a Saturday morning.  It sounded like a fun plan to me too.  They sure felt special getting to eat in Mommy and Daddy's bed and watch TV.
This was another experiment we did from the book that Auntie Sarah gave us... it was a salt volcano that we colored with food coloring.  Fun stuff!
Maxy wanted to dress Murphy up for St. Patrick's Day and put a shamrock necklace on him.  He loves Murphy SO very much!!
The boys and I went to Target together and they were so excited to see the summer stuff out.  Max has been wanting scuba gear like his brother and I kept telling him as soon as the summer stuff was out, we would look for some.  Cole spotted the scuba gear and got all excited.  Maxy couldn't wait to have his own set and has been wearing the gear with his swimsuit around the house the last couple weeks.
One day after Max and I picked up Cole from school (Max had jammie day at preschool), I told the boys I was taking them on a "double date"... meaning they both get to go with me... and we went to D'Bronx for lunch.  The boys were pretty excited about these giant brownies and I thought they were delicious as well!
Last week we had art club and instead of doing it at someone's house, we met at the pottery place to paint pottery.  Maxy painted a puppy piggy bank (surprise, surprise!!) and Cole made a K-State football jar with the Powercat logo on both sides.  Both pieces turned out cute. :)

The art club crew having a snack and watching a show as they finished their projects.
Grayson and Jack came over to play with Max last week while Cole and Connor were at school. Max and Grayson had fun playing duets and Max liked being the oldest for the morning and getting to pull the boys in the wagon around the block.

We've been playing a LOT of basketball at our house lately!!

Max in his Marshall Paw Patrol puppy costume out on his little bike. ;)

Max was a great sport Saturday morning and went with me to get a pedicure.  He was such a little sweetie... my buddy sat right next to me and we talked the whole time.  I didn't even have to pull out the Kindle I brought for him in case we needed it.  :)
Max and his newest buddy, Vivie.  She lives next door in Jerry's old house.  They moved in last fall and Max loves having a buddy his age to pal around with.  Cole really looks up to her older brother in 5th grade along with all the other 5th grade boys on our street.
Another sleepy day... he fell asleep in the chair cuddling his love puppy.
 My littlest angel
Out for a Sunday funday family walk... we wanted to do a service project as a family over lent so we walked down to the park and collected a big bag full of trash.  The boys were such awesome helpers and liked helping take care of the earth. :)
We went to the VanErem's for brunch this morning and it was such a beautiful morning!  We sat outside on their deck and ate a yummy meal!  Spring is definitely in the air!!

Recent Fun

After the snow last Monday, I took Cole and Jack T. sledding on Tuesday.  We went to the "big hill" near our house... it is quite a hill!  The boys had a blast, despite the snow being pretty sparse.

On Friday, the little guys and I headed to Topeka for a weekend at GG and Poppy's.  Craig stayed home to paint the bannister and get some things done around the house.  We had a fun time experimenting with ideas in a new book that the boys received from Auntie Sarah for Valentine's Day.  We made water beads and foam dough.  GG was so kind to let us make a mess in her kitchen!

The foam dough turned into slimey oobleck type stuff when we added water, so that was pretty neat too.  We also went to the Topeka Children's Performng Arts show on Saturday.  It was 2 jugglers/mimes.  The boys enjoyed that.  Otherwise, we just kind of hung out around GG and Poppy's house and the boys loved making "forts" with the bunk beds and just playing around the house.  GG and Poppy's is their favorite place to be!

On Sunday we drove back to Kansas City and met the rest of our family at the Kauffmann Center for Peter and the Wolf.  The boys have been fascinated with the building for a while now.  Every time we drive downtown, they point it out.  They call it "Potato Chip Knight Helmet Sunglasses" because it looks like all 3 of those from varying angles.
 Silly face!

GG and Poppy and all their boys!  The boys all did a great job at the show!  The symphony performed and they also had different state mascots to help tell the story.  It was cute how they did it.

Slugger was the "cat" from the show... so Max really wanted to see him after the show... however, we did have to bribe them to get a picture with him.  I think they got a little scared once they got close. :)
This was the other morning at home with Max... he asked me to take a picture of Murphy giving him kisses. :)
Then my little helper dressed up in his Paw Patrol Marshall costume and asked if he could help me clean... nice!  I put him to work and he just loved working away. :)

Last night I went on a date with Poppy. I gave him a "coupon" for dinner and a movie for his birthday.  When I got home, the boys had made these sweet little creations for me.  Craig said it was totally their idea and they were just working away as he was making dinner.  They are just the sweetest little guys!!

This morning, Maxy and I got to go bowling with our friend, Luke.  It was awesome because we were practically the only ones there.  The boys were too cute bowling and had lots of fun together!

Snow!

Last Monday it snowed and we didn't have school because of President's Day, so we stayed home all day and got to play in the snow lots.  The boys had such a blast building a snow tunnel together!

This wasn't the same day, but last week one day, I had the boys take naps because they had colds and weren't feeling great.  When I went to check on Max, I found him asleep in his Royals hat, cuddling his beloved "Love Puppy." :)
